About Us
CSBR is dedicated to improving human and animal health.
The California Society for Biomedical Research (CSBR), a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, is dedicated to improving human and animal health by promoting public understanding and support for biomedical research and discovery through life science education and outreach. We seek to foster an understanding of the scientific process, and to inspire students to careers in the life sciences.
The Society supports STEM education programs, conducts public outreach on the research process, and develops, publishes, and distributes, free of charge, lifescience curriculum resources and public education materials.
We are the only nonprofit in the western region dedicated to expanding understanding and support of the biomedical research process and encouraging students to pursue careers in the lifesciences and biomedical research. The Society’s materials and programs are available, at no charge, to all K-12 students, teachers, science and health program coordinators, and school nurses, regardless of their public or private school affiliation.
Geographically, the majority of our educational programs focus on K-12 students and teachers in California and Nevada, and upon request we fulfill needs whenever possible from teachers and students across the nation. We actively collaborate with lifescience educational organizations around the country through sharing of resources and curriculum materials for education and outreach, and collaborating on national outreach and education projects.
